The best way to build confidence is not setting massive goals.
It’s not facing your biggest fears.
It’s not even building healthy habits.
Are those things helpful? Absolutely. And I would never tell you not to do them.
But there’s another (much easier and faster) way to build your confidence muscle…
The crazy part? You already KNOW what it is, but you still aren’t doing it.
So, let’s talk about it.
The Best Way to Build Confidence Quickly
The other night, I told myself I was going to do two things when I woke up:
- Not have any pre-workout (as much I love caffeine, I hate dependency)
- Send 5 cold email pitches for my copywriting business
I woke up the next day. 4:30 am. No caffeine.
I went right into my morning routine. Eat, shower, quick workout, etc. Then I sat down at my computer and hammered out 5 cold email pitches.
An hour later? I feel elated.Â
Stronger. Confident. More determined. Like it was going to be a good day.
And it was all because the night prior, I wrote down what I was going to do…
… and then the next day, I ACTUALLY did it.
Just Imagine for a Moment…
Here’s the thing: I didn’t do anything wild, crazy, big or ostentatious here. I literally just did what I said I was going to do.
And I had an unbelievable burst of self-confidence surge through as a result of those committed actions.
Can you imagine if YOU did that same thing every single day…
For a month. 3 months. 6 months. A year. The rest of your life.
The kind of confidence and conviction you would have in your own ability to get things done.
Because the truth is…
These tiny commitments that we make to ourselves—as innocuous or trivial as they may seem—are actually the building blocks to accomplishing our big goals in life.
Why You’re Still Not Doing It
Honoring your word (in my opinion) is the easist and best way to build confidence.
Why? It’s very simple:
- Fast: You can start doing it today, right now.
- Easy: You can start with small and simple commitments)
- It scales:Â Over time, you can build off the momentum and make massive strides
But despite these advantages, most people still fall short.
And I know exactly why: They don’t take it seriously.
We as humans tend to complicate things. Everyone does it. We think to ourselves, “It can’t be that simple.”
But guess what: It can be, and it is.Â
Start Today
My recommendation? Start today with something easy and simple.
Make a commitment to:
- Wake up earlier
- Practice that skill
- Call that person
- Attend that event, etc.
Whatever you’ve been telling yourself you’d do, do it.
Make a mini commitment to yourself every day, and keep it.
And with enough time and repetition, you’ll find your level of self-trust and confidence grow as a direct result.
