How’d you make out in 2025? Did you crush your goals, or is there room for improvement going into 2026? Chances are there’s still work to do. This will always be the case. But the question you should ask yourself is, how can you make 2026 your best year yet? Here are a few steps I’m taking for some easy motivation going into the new year.
1. Lock In
There are a few major goals I’m aiming at this year. I know what I want, why I want it, and what I’m going to do to get it. And now? I just need to lock in. Here’s the thing… Your focus and efforts need to be directed. This is what gives you life momentum and a sense of economy. Your actions become imbued with determination, which pulls you to your goals.
Here’s how you can lock in for 2026:
- Default to your calendar: If your calendar is not aligned with your goals, then they’re not goals. They’re wishes. And wishes don’t come true unless the actions for their attainment are specified and scheduled.
- Do something every day:Â You should have at least one action step that you take every day that moves you toward your goals. In the beginning, make that action step small, easy, and fast. This builds momentum, making it easier to take bigger action steps as you progress.
- Small steps toward the big picture:Â Want easy motivation? Start small. Really small. Ridiculously small. This is not trivial. It’s practical. Far too often, people bite off more than they can chew with new goals. Take baby steps toward your big picture goals.
Locking in is all about honing in on your target. It’s about removing whatever doesn’t move the needle on your goals. If you want to make 2026 your best year yet, it starts here. Dialing your goals in. Getting focused on your plans. Taking action every day.
2. Find Accountability
Accountability. The cornerstone of commitment. If you’re serious about hitting your goals in 2026, you’ll tell the world. It’s a form of consistency you should not hesitate to leverage. Personally, I share my goals with an accountability partner. We have weekly check-ins to ensure we’re on the right track and making progress.
Here’s how an accountability partner can help you lock in:
- Boosts your odds of success
- Gives you new perspectives
- Strong sense of community
- Better progress tracking
No joke. This step is a game-changer—it’s very effective. But it’s also the most intimidating for people. Having someone else hold your feet to the fire adds a heavier layer of pressure. That’s the point, and that’s why it works so well.
3. Give 2026 A One-Word Theme
I learned this one from Dan Martell. Take one word that you want 2026 to be about. Something that—if you lived by would change everything for you by the year’s end—and let it guide your mindset and decisions for the next 365 days. My one word? Breakthrough. This will be the year I break through old limitations, insecurities, and self-doubts.
I’ve set my goals. Made my plans. And themed my year with a concept that I want reflected in my actions throughout 2026. I invite you to do the same… It gives you a foundation to fall back on when you start deviating. And you will start deviating. Trust me. It happens to all of us.
Final Thoughts On Easy Motivation For 2026
If you follow these simple best practices, you’ll have easy motivation throughout the year. You’ll stay the course. Hit your targets. And look back at the end of 2026 with satisfaction, knowing you did everything you said you would. That’s an outcome I’m excited to have.
And remember: Stay Motivated And Disciplined.
