  • Sleep quality: Getting adequate sleep is non-negotiable. It’s a healthy habit that not enough people take seriously enough. If you want better health, more energy, an improved mood, etc., then ensure you’re getting enough rest every night.
  • Leisure activities: An improved quality of life comes when you take advantage of your free time by using it to pursue activities that make you happy. Do you enjoy writing, making music, graphic design? What brings you happiness? You need to spend more time doing those activities if you want a higher quality of life.
  • Stress management: Managing stress is essential for your overall life quality. Stress management improves your mental health, helps with mood regulation, and contributes to an overall healthy lifestyle. Not enough people process their feelings and manage their stress properly. A few ways you can manage your stress levels are through exercise, breath work, practicing gratitude, mindfulness practices, getting better sleep, etc.

We all have challenges—I get it.

However, it’s worth noting that whining about your problems doesn’t make them go away. In fact, all it does is make you feel sorry for yourself and prevent you from seeing all that you have going for you… So don’t complain.

Complaining will rob you of your best life.

Why? Because it pushes people (and opportunities) away from you, weakens your soul, and compromises your resolve to do anything about it. And you’re so much better than that.

2. Don’t Blame

Your life is your responsibility; no one is coming to save you.

Some people see this as an unfair hindrance. I believe it’s the opposite. It’s actually the most empowering piece of knowledge that can help you stay motivated. It’s all on you; it’s all your fault. But the good news is you can make the changes to get where you want to be when it’s all your fault.

If it were up to someone else to “rescue you,” you’d be waiting a long time for that salvation.

So don’t blame. If you’re blaming your family, your spouse, the government, or anything else outside of yourself, then you are wasting away your precious life. This simple act can negatively affect your life in countless ways.

3. Don’t Procrastinate

Whatever you want to do in life, you’ve gotta get at it.

Action is the key that opens the doors to your goals and dreams. You want to start that business? What’s stopping you? Thinking about getting in shape? What’s the hold-up? Want to fix that broken relationship? What’s taking so long?

Start getting at it; begin making progress even if it’s minimal at first—which it most likely will be.

Whatever you want to do, start the process. Make a plan and give your life some structure, a framework. This will provide you with guidance that will help re-enliven you with a new sense of vigor and enthusiasm.
